Frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Call (956) 246-2901 and Caila will answer it herself.

What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy helps you get back to the everyday activities that matter to you: dressing, cooking, working, driving, caring for your family. Where other therapies focus on a joint or a muscle, occupational therapy focuses on the task you are trying to do and everything standing between you and doing it again.

Will I work with the same therapist every visit?

Yes. Every appointment at NeuroMotion is one-on-one with Caila. You are never handed off to a technician or an aide, and you are never sharing your session with three other patients.

What conditions do you treat?

Stroke recovery, Parkinson's disease, MS, neuropathy and other neurological conditions; pelvic health including prenatal and postpartum recovery and incontinence; balance and fall prevention; daily living skills, fine motor, and home safety.

What is LSVT BIG®?

LSVT BIG is a research-backed treatment protocol developed specifically for people with Parkinson's disease. It uses large-amplitude movement training to counter the smaller, slower movement that Parkinson's causes. Caila is a certified LSVT BIG clinician, which is not common in the Rio Grande Valley.

What is pelvic floor therapy, and what should I expect?

Pelvic floor therapy treats the muscles that support your bladder, bowel, and core. It is common care for incontinence, pelvic pain, and prenatal and postpartum recovery. Caila holds Herman & Wallace Pelvic Floor Level 1 training. Every session is private and one-on-one, and nothing happens without your understanding and consent.

¿Hablan español?

Sí. Caila atiende en inglés y en español, y puede explicarle su plan de tratamiento en el idioma que prefiera.

Do you offer physical therapy and speech therapy?

Not yet. NeuroMotion currently offers one-on-one occupational therapy. Licensed physical therapy and speech-language pathology providers are joining the clinic, and both services are coming soon.
